Army rescues 801 civilians in Sambisa Forest

Abuja - The Nigerian Army has rescued more than 800 civilians during operations that have seen troops kill scores of terrorists in the Sambisa Forest.
The Army embarked on the operation from 23 November to December 5 in an effort to rescuing all the Chibok school girls and other hostages held in the vast forest in Borno State, northeast Nigeria.
It could not be ascertained at the time of publication if some of the 801 rescued were the schoolgirls that were kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorists(BHTs) in 2014.
Army spokesperson, Col Sani Kukasheka Usman, described the crackdown as a huge success.
Meanwhile, I can confirm to you that the BHTs are in total disarray due to our current military operations,” said Usman.
“Even the Maman Nur and Shekau factions clashed again recently which has further forced the BHT remnants at KAFA to disperse in confusion and desperation.”
However, the army lost three personnel and civilian volunteers during the crackdown.
